This Week At Kirk! Week of Jan. 27

Hello Kirk Families,

Here’s what is happening around Kirk this week!

1- Kirk Student Council’s Helping Hearts for MS fundraiser will be from Feb. 7 – Feb. 21. They’ll kick off the fundraiser with a Bake Sale and Craft Fair on Feb. 7!! You are welcome to donate crafts to the fair that will be sold with all proceeds going to the National MS Society. Each classroom will also have a jar during the fundraiser where children can put in bills, change, or checks for the MS Society. Help us get 100% participation and beat last year’s donation of $1933. See the enclosed flier for details.

2- The Trike-A-Thon is finished and the children did an amazing job of zipping around the track! Please be sure to turn in your pledge money, all donations will got towards revamping our playground and playground toys!

3- Information on our upcoming Pancake Breakfast went home with your children last week. Your Pancake Breakfast Committee is working hard to prepare a fabulous breakfast and basket raffle for your enjoyment. However, they need your help collecting donations for the basket raffle! We are including a copy of the packet here in case you need extra donation letters!!

4- Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Club has started and will continue through Feb. 24. Children in grades K-5th grades have a chance to earn a Magic Mountain amusement park ticket if they complete 6 hours of reading before Feb. 24. Reading logs went home with your children last week but we are including a copy here for your convenience. Please contact Miss Gretchen, our school librarian, for questions at [email protected]

6- Preschool and Kindergarten children will be taking part in our Chinese New Year Parade on Friday, January 31 at 11 a.m. The school courtyard will come alive with the sound of drums and gongs and kindergarten’s beautiful dragon will help us bring in the year of the horse.

The two new Kirk apps are still going through some testing so we apologize for any inconvenience. As soon as they are up and running properly, we will let you know. Thanks for your patience!

Hope you get a chance to enjoy some of the fun things happening around Kirk this week!
